Anyone else see the 'performance' labels on their exit packets?

I’ve been with Intuit for over four years, consistently hitting my targets and getting solid reviews. Woke up on the 16th to a meeting invite and a separation agreement that basically calls me an 'underperformer' to justify the lack of a decent package. It feels like a calculated move to avoid paying out what they promised. I know I’m not the only one here who got slapped with this label overnight. It’s insulting. Has anyone actually tried to fight this or talk to HR? Or is it a total waste of time? I’m hearing from former teammates that they got the same label, which makes it feel even more like a generic excuse to trim the headcount without a full severance payout. If this is how they treat people after years of service, I’m honestly relieved to be out, but the gaslighting is unreal.

It’s absolutely infuriating, but sadly, this is standard corporate theater. They use these labels to insulate themselves from legal backlash and justify lower severance payouts. Fighting it through HR is a dead end because they exist to protect the company, not you. Unless you have rock-solid, timestamped evidence of retaliation or contract violations, they’ve already accounted for the risk. Take the package if you have to, document everything for unemployment claims, and move on to a company that actually respects the work you put in. Don't let them gaslight you into believing you're the problem.
