Brutal honestly - interview bombed after the layoffs. Anyone else?

I made it through the layoffs, but I'm applying to other places now because the atmosphere is just so depressing. Had an interview at a smaller company yesterday, and I completely bombed. I think I'm still processing everything that happened here, and it totally affected my performance. I was so focused on Intuit's problems during my interview that it made me seem unprepared. Has anyone else experienced this? How did you move past the layoff anxiety and focus on your job search?

Ugh, I feel you. It's rough out there. I haven't bombed an interview *that* badly, but I've definitely been more distracted than usual. Honestly, I started journaling just to get all the Intuit negativity out of my head. It helps me compartmentalize so I can actually focus during interviews. Maybe give that a try? Good luck!

I'm not sure I buy it. Layoffs suck, sure, but blaming it for bombing an interview? Sounds like you weren't as prepared as you should have been. Take some responsibility and focus on brushing up your skills instead of dwelling on Intuit's problems. Companies want to hear about what *you* can do for *them*, not your sob story.
