Recent layoffs hit hard - anyone else affected?

Hey everyone, just saw the news about Intuit's latest round of layoffs on July 16th. Apparently, it was a pretty significant number of people, though the exact figure is still a bit fuzzy. I've heard whispers about it being tied to a major strategic shift, focusing more on certain tech areas and less on others. My team wasn't directly impacted, but the mood here is definitely somber. It's unsettling to see so many colleagues go, especially when the company is talking about future growth. Makes you wonder what the long-term plan really is and where the security is. Has anyone here been directly affected or have more insight into what's driving these cuts? Trying to understand the bigger picture and how it impacts those of us remaining. It's tough to process when you're still here but know so many others aren't. Just looking for some solidarity and maybe some clarity.

I'm so sorry to hear about the layoffs. It's incredibly tough to go through something like that, especially when you're blindsided. The uncertainty and the emotional toll must be immense. Hoping you and anyone affected find new opportunities soon. It's hard to reconcile news of layoffs with talks of growth; it creates a real sense of unease for those remaining too. Stay strong, everyone.
