Severance package - what's standard for senior ICs?

Got the news on June 12th. I'm a Senior Software Engineer with 5 years at Intuit, working on the consumer tax group. They offered 12 weeks base pay + 2 weeks per year of service. It feels a little light, honestly, especially given the market right now and my experience level. Did anyone else get a different offer? Are there any negotiation tactics that worked for people in previous rounds? I'm trying to figure out if I should push back or just accept it and focus on landing the next role. Any advice is appreciated.

That severance sounds pretty standard for Intuit, unfortunately. I saw similar numbers for senior folks laid off last year. They usually stick to a pretty rigid formula. It's tough, especially when you feel your contributions were high. While negotiation is always an option, don't expect a huge shift unless you have something truly exceptional to leverage. Focus on your resume and networking; that's where you'll see the biggest return right now.

12 weeks base plus 2 per year for 5 years is 22 weeks total. That's not terrible, especially given the current tech climate where many places are offering less, or just straight up nothing beyond what's legally required. It might feel light compared to what you *think* you deserve, but companies often have standard packages they won't budge much on. Have you looked at what other comparable companies are offering recently? Might put it in perspective.
