J&J Layoffs - Is This the New Normal?

Another one for J&J in NJ, 183 people gone. It's getting hard to keep track. I'm starting to wonder if these frequent, smaller layoffs are just the company's new operating model. Instead of one massive shake-up, they're doing these consistent cuts. What does this mean for morale and long-term planning? Feels like a constant state of uncertainty. Are we seeing this across the healthcare/pharma industry or is J&J just doing its own thing? Curious to hear other perspectives on the underlying reasons and if anyone sees a pattern here. Seems like a constant pressure to 'optimize' at the expense of people.

It's definitely concerning to see these consistent reports of layoffs at J&J. The constant churn must be brutal for employee morale. It makes you question the stability and future direction of the company when there's always this undercurrent of job insecurity. I wonder if it's a cost-saving measure in response to market pressures, or perhaps a strategic shift in focus that's leading to these workforce adjustments. It's hard to say without more insider information, but it certainly doesn't paint a picture of steady growth and confidence.
