Kentucky operations getting hit again?

Just saw the WARN notice for Boone, KY. Looks like another 70 heads on the chopping block. It feels like the death by a thousand cuts continues at J&J. I’ve been with the firm for a few years and the morale is absolutely cratered. Every quarter it’s the same story: ‘operational efficiency’ and ‘streamlining,’ but it just feels like they’re gutting the legacy infrastructure to prop up the stock price for the next earnings call. If you’re in Boone, my DMs are open if you need to vent or compare exit packages. Anyone have any insight on if this is the end of the site or if they’re planning to keep a skeleton crew running? It’s hard to stay focused when you’re constantly wondering if your badge is going to stop working on a Tuesday morning.

It is honestly exhausting watching the constant cycle of restructuring. I spent nearly a decade at J&J, and the shift from prioritizing employee retention to obsession with quarterly earnings metrics is palpable. Boone is just the latest location to deal with the fallout of these top-down mandates. It feels like leadership has completely lost touch with the people who actually maintain the infrastructure. Everyone is looking over their shoulder now, and the lack of transparency regarding long-term plans makes it impossible to feel secure. Sending strength to anyone impacted by this round.

I have been tracking these WARN notices for months, and the pattern is becoming painfully predictable. They frame it as 'streamlining' or 'synergy,' but for those on the ground, it is just a relentless stripping away of resources. Boone is definitely not going to be the last facility hit if they keep pushing this efficiency model to the brink. Honestly, the culture has changed so drastically that I hardly recognize the place anymore. If you are still there, prioritize your own career trajectory and start updating your credentials immediately—it is every person for themselves at this point.
