I wouldn't buy the 'no further impact' line for a second. I’ve been through these cycles at K-C before, and they never pull the plug all at once. Usually, they start with small, surgical cuts to avoid a mass exodus or a PR nightmare while they quietly prepare the next phase of the restructuring. If management is already acting weird, that’s your signal to update your resume and start networking. They prioritize the bottom line over loyalty every single time.
Look, try to take a deep breath. I know it’s unsettling when friends get cut, but 27 people is a drop in the bucket for a facility that size. Sometimes it really is just an operational shift to improve efficiency rather than the beginning of a total shutdown. You’re going to drive yourself crazy trying to read between the lines of every corporate email. Focus on your own output and keep your head down for now—there’s no point in burning yourself out over rumors that might not pan out.
