K-C morale is at an all-time low

I’ve been with Kimberly-Clark for over five years, and I’ve never seen the office this hollowed out. It’s not just the 27 people who got let go in Kentucky; it’s the ripple effect of watching desks sit empty and the remaining workload getting dumped on the survivors without a pay bump or any semblance of support. We’re being asked to do the work of three people while leadership talks about 'efficiency' and 'streamlining' in every town hall. It’s hard to stay motivated when you know your loyalty means nothing the moment the quarterly projections dip. I’m honestly exhausted. I’ve started updating my resume tonight because I refuse to be the next one waiting for a calendar invite from HR on a Tuesday morning. Anyone else hitting the job boards tonight?

The 'streamlining' talk is just corporate speak for squeezing the life out of the remaining workforce. I've seen it happen in my division too, where they praise efficiency while ignoring the fact that we're all burnt out and drowning in extra responsibilities. Loyalty at K-C has become a one-way street, and it’s becoming impossible to justify sticking around when the culture feels this toxic and disconnected from the reality on the ground.

Hang in there. It’s brutal watching colleagues leave, but please don't let this place take your mental health with them. The narrative from leadership rarely matches the day-to-day grind, and expecting people to pick up the slack without any real support is a recipe for disaster. Prioritize yourself and your sanity over their efficiency metrics—they’ve clearly already made their choice to prioritize the bottom line over the people who actually keep the lights on.
