Anyone else feeling the 'streamlining' squeeze?

It feels like we’re in a constant state of flux lately. With the recent news out of Columbia and the general vibe around the different sites, morale is hitting an all-time low. Are we seeing these 'efficiencies' manifest as more scope creep for those of us still here? I feel like I'm doing the work of two people, and every time I bring up resource constraints, I'm told to 'do more with less' because of budget alignments. It’s exhausting. Does anyone know if the leadership is actually planning a pivot or if we are just cutting heads to make the quarterly numbers look better for the shareholders? I’m genuinely curious if people are planning to jump ship before the next round of 'strategic adjustments' happens. This corporate culture is becoming impossible to navigate.

It is honestly becoming impossible to keep up. I’ve watched half my team get shifted or cut, and the workload hasn't decreased by a single task. Leadership loves to talk about 'synergy' and 'streamlining' during the town halls, but those words have just become code for expecting us to burn out by doing the jobs of two or three people. The culture shift is palpable, and the transparency is non-existent. I’m just waiting to see if there is any actual plan beyond this constant state of chaos or if we are just meant to keep sinking until something breaks.

Hang in there. I’ve been through a few of these 'restructuring' phases before, and the pattern is always the same: they squeeze the remaining staff until productivity dips, then they act surprised when projects start slipping. The Columbia situation is just the latest indicator that this is a top-down strategy to appease shareholders at the expense of our daily sanity. Don't push yourself to the breaking point for a company that treats us like a line item on a spreadsheet. Prioritize your own well-being, because management certainly isn't going to do it for you.
