Is the 'reorg' talk just code for more trimming?

Leadership keeps talking about 'streamlining core operations' and 'synergy' in the latest company-wide memos, but we all know what that actually means for our headcount. I’ve survived three of these 'optimizations' in the last two years, and the team morale is absolutely in the gutter. It’s hard to stay focused on deliverables when you’re constantly wondering if your department is next on the chopping block. Seems like the focus shifted entirely to stock buybacks and margin improvements at the expense of the people doing the actual technical work. Is anyone else seeing their project leads ghosting on long-term planning? It feels like they aren't even pretending to care about the 2026 roadmaps anymore. Thinking about jumping ship before the next round of WARN notices hits. Has anyone actually had any luck finding comparable defense roles lately, or is the whole industry tightening belts right now?

The 'synergy' buzzwords are definitely the biggest red flag. Management loves to frame these constant restructurings as efficiency gains, but it's clearly just a cycle of cutting costs to make the quarterly numbers look better for investors. It's impossible to build anything meaningful when your colleagues keep vanishing every six months. At this point, the corporate culture is basically just survival of the fittest, and the focus on margin expansion is killing the long-term innovation that this company used to be known for.

Honestly, I stopped listening to the town halls a long time ago. Every time they start mentioning 'streamlining' or 'realigning resources,' you know the pink slips are already printed. It's a shame because the technical work here is actually interesting, but the endless volatility makes it impossible to commit to long-term projects. I’ve started looking elsewhere because I’m tired of playing the guessing game every time the stock price dips. If you aren't already updating your resume, you're just waiting for your turn on the list.
