Just saw the WARN notice for the Columbia, MD office. 31 people getting the boot on September 10th. It’s always the same story—leadership talks about 'streamlining' and 'operational efficiency' while the rest of us are left wondering if we're next on the spreadsheet. Does anyone know if this is limited to a specific program or if it's across the board? I'm hearing whispers that more cuts are coming before the end of Q3, but management has been radio silent as usual. If you're in the MD area, stay alert. The severance packages have been getting tighter, so if you haven't started brushing up your resume, now is probably the time. Don't wait for an email invite to a 'mandatory all-hands' meeting to start looking.

It is honestly exhausting watching the same cycle repeat itself. Every time they mention 'synergy' or 'operational alignment,' you know it’s just code for a headcount reduction. I feel for the 31 people in Columbia who have to deal with this right before the end of the quarter. It feels like the company is prioritizing margin expansion over the people who actually build the systems. If the rumors about more cuts are true, the lack of transparency from leadership is just going to kill morale completely.

I was expecting some sort of news like this given how the recent earnings calls have been framed. While 31 roles might seem like a small number compared to the total workforce, it creates a massive amount of anxiety for those of us left behind in the office. Is this really just a targeted program cleanup, or is the budget tightening across the entire organization? Regardless, keep your resumes updated. Relying on management to be honest about future layoffs has never been a winning strategy.
