September WARN notice for Columbia: Here we go again

Just saw the latest WARN filing for the Columbia, MD site. 31 people getting the boot effective September 10th. It feels like this place is being bled dry by papercuts rather than one big axe, which is almost worse for morale. Every time I walk into the office, I’m looking at who is missing from their desk. Management keeps preaching about 'operational excellence' and 'streamlining,' but it feels like the people actually doing the engineering work are the ones paying the price for the stock price goals. Is anyone else hearing rumors about whether this is just the first wave for Q4, or are we hoping this is it for the year? Hard to stay motivated when you’re constantly checking the state labor board websites just to see if you still have a job next month.

The steady drip of layoffs in Columbia is beyond demoralizing. It’s hard to stay focused on project deliverables when you are constantly wondering if your cubicle neighbor is next on the chopping block. Management loves to hide behind corporate buzzwords like 'operational excellence,' but this strategy is clearly just about optics for Wall Street at the expense of the actual workforce. At this point, the best talent is going to jump ship before they are forced out. It feels like the company is cannibalizing its own future just to boost the quarterly outlook.

I was not surprised to see that WARN notice pop up. This has become the standard operating procedure lately—keep the headcount lean and push the remaining engineers to double their workload. It creates a toxic atmosphere where nobody trusts leadership. If they really wanted to streamline, they would look at the bloated middle management instead of cutting the people actually building the product. They are running this place into the ground while patting themselves on the back for 'cost-saving initiatives.' I am already polishing my resume.
