Anyone else getting weird vibes after the last town hall?

Is it just me, or did the tone shift significantly in the last quarterly call? I’ve been with Lear for over six years, and I’ve seen the cycles, but the constant emphasis on 'operational efficiency' and 'realigning our footprint' feels different this time. They keep talking about streamlining engineering workflows, but no one is actually explaining what that means for our headcount. My manager has been tight-lipped, which usually isn't their style. There’s a lot of chatter on the floor about us maybe losing some of the JIT programs or consolidation in the regional plants. I’m just trying to figure out if I should start polishing the resume now or if I’m just being paranoid because the industry is cooling off. Has anyone heard anything specific from leadership or seen unusual activity in the internal project logs? Just trying to gauge if I should be worried or if this is just standard corporate speak.

I've been hearing the exact same thing on my floor. That 'operational efficiency' talk is corporate-speak for cost-cutting, and we all know it. Every time leadership starts using those buzzwords without defining what they mean for the actual workforce, it’s a massive red flag. The lack of transparency from management is the most concerning part—they clearly know something is coming and are under strict orders not to spill. Keep your head down and start polishing your resume, because the writing is definitely on the wall.

Honestly, I think everyone is overreacting a bit. Every major company goes through these 'realignment' phases every few years, especially when the market gets tight. It’s just how they keep investors happy during quarterly calls. I doubt there’s going to be some massive layoff, they probably just want to consolidate redundant roles or push for better software integration across the engineering teams. Don't let the watercooler gossip stress you out too much; if there were real trouble, they’d be cutting much faster than this.
