Anyone else getting weird vibes lately?

Is it just me, or does the silence from leadership feel louder than usual? I’ve been with Liberty for a few years now, and the atmosphere in our department has shifted over the last couple of months. We’re seeing more 'strategic realignment' talk in the all-hands meetings and a lot of vague messaging about 'operational efficiency.' Every time a calendar invite pops up for an 'urgent sync' with my manager or HR, my heart sinks. I know we aren't seeing formal WARN notices or anything, but the freeze on backfills and the sudden crackdown on T&E expenses makes me think the other shoe is about to drop. Has anyone heard anything concrete, or are we just reading too much into the current macro environment? I’m trying to keep my head down and just grind, but it’s hard to focus when everyone on Slack is acting like they’re walking on eggshells. If you’re in claims or tech, have you noticed any change in project priorities? Seems like everything is being paused except for the absolute bare minimum.

I’ve been tracking the same shifts in the air over the last quarter. You’re definitely not imagining it. When you hear buzzwords like 'operational efficiency' constantly creeping into every meeting, it’s rarely a sign that things are staying status quo. The vague communication style is specifically designed to keep everyone off balance while they finalize whatever backend decisions have already been made. My advice is to update your resume and start quietly testing the market now. It’s always better to be proactive than to be blindsided by a sudden invite on a Thursday afternoon.

Honestly, the vibe at Liberty has been incredibly stressful lately. It feels like every week there’s another pivot or a re-org that nobody asked for. Leadership loves using corporate speak to avoid giving us straight answers, but the lack of transparency is becoming impossible to ignore. I’ve noticed the same anxiety in my team; nobody wants to speak up during the town halls, yet everyone is whispering in private. Just keep your head down, document your wins, and start networking outside the company. If your gut is telling you something is off, it usually is.
