Feeling the pressure after the 7/5 cuts

It’s really discouraging to see the mid-year cuts hit like this. I know 64 people sounds small in the grand scheme of Lockheed, but those are real teams losing real talent. The atmosphere since the announcement has been toxic—everyone is just grinding, trying to look busy so they don't get targeted next. I'm tired of the 'do more with less' mantra being shoved down our throats while the stock price stays relatively healthy. It makes you realize how little job security there actually is in this industry, no matter how 'essential' the work is supposed to be. Anyone else feeling like the internal morale is at an all-time low, or is it just my department?

I’m sorry you’re going through that. It’s always the same story: leadership celebrates record profits and shareholder returns while the people actually doing the work get treated like line items on a spreadsheet. Watching talented colleagues get walked out is demoralizing, and the 'do more with less' mindset is just a recipe for burnout and long-term failure. Please prioritize your own mental health right now and remember that your value isn't tied to an employer that views you as replaceable.

That atmosphere sounds absolutely suffocating. When the culture shifts toward constant fear and performative busyness, innovation completely dies. It’s a classic corporate move to trim headcount to pad the margins for Wall Street, but it inevitably leaves the remaining staff overworked and bitter. Document everything you're doing, update your resume, and start quietly checking the market. You don't owe them your sanity when they’ve clearly already decided that your job security is lower priority than their quarterly earnings.
