Is it just me, or are they REALLY cracking down on performance?

Been at LM for 12 years, mostly coasting, to be honest. Good performance reviews, annual raises, the whole shebang. But this year? Holy crap. My manager is suddenly hyper-focused on metrics, deliverables, and 'demonstrating value'. I'm hearing similar things from colleagues in other departments (mostly engineering and software). It's like they're trying to justify weeding out the 'dead weight'. Anyone else feel like the pressure's been cranked up to 11? I'm wondering if this is a prelude to... well, you know. Maybe they're trying to scare people into quitting so they don't have to pay out severance?

Yeah, I've noticed a definite shift too. I'm in a different department, but the pressure to document everything and justify your existence feels new. Maybe it's just a new management fad, but it definitely feels like they're trying to trim the fat, especially with the stock price not doing amazing. Start updating that resume just in case, and document EVERYTHING you do.

Honestly, about time! So many people coasting doing the bare minimum. You've been there 12 years and *just now* noticing metrics matter? Maybe they're actually trying to run a business and deliver results to shareholders for once. I say good riddance to anyone not pulling their weight; Lockheed needs to be competitive and innovative to survive.
