Anyone else feeling the pre-layoff anxiety lately?

I've been at Lyft for almost 5 years now, in engineering. I remember the last big layoff a couple years ago and the atmosphere leading up to it was so thick you could cut it with a knife. Lately, I'm getting that same vibe again. Lots of closed-door meetings, weird reorganizations that don't seem to make sense, and a general sense of people being on edge. Maybe I'm just being paranoid, but I've started updating my resume and quietly reaching out to my network. Better safe than sorry, right? Anyone else feeling this?

Totally feeling it too. I'm in product, and we've had three 'strategy alignment' meetings in the last two weeks, all ending with more questions than answers. My gut is screaming something's up. Your resume update is a smart move. I'm dusting mine off as well. Remember that feeling of helplessness last time? Let's try to be a bit more proactive this time around. Good luck!

Honestly, you might be overreacting. Companies always have reorganizations. It's kind of just the tech cycle. I've been through three 'major shifts' in my two years here. Of course, it's never a bad idea to have your resume up-to-date, but I wouldn't start panicking just yet. Maybe focus on delivering good work and try to ignore the noise for a bit.
