Is anyone else seeing a freeze on hiring and new projects?

It feels like the spigot has been turned off overnight. We were gearing up for a few new initiatives, and suddenly everything's on hold. Recruiters have gone silent, and even internal transfers seem to be stalled. My manager is being super cagey when I ask about timelines, just saying things are 'under review.' Combined with the recent news from other tech companies, it's hard not to put two and two together. Makes you wonder how much of the workforce is truly secure right now. Has anyone else experienced this sudden pause? Trying to figure out if this is a company-wide thing or if I'm just in a department that's facing a slowdown. Any insights would be appreciated.

Yeah, it's definitely feeling like a slowdown here too. Lots of murmurs about projects being paused indefinitely and a general freeze on bringing in new folks. Recruiters seem to have vanished. My team was expecting some expansion, but now it's all radio silence and vague 're-evaluations.' It's unnerving, especially seeing the headlines from other places. Makes you question what's really going on behind the scenes and if things will pick back up anytime soon.

I've noticed the same thing. It's like the entire company is holding its breath. New roles are being posted and then quietly taken down, and internal discussions about new ventures have just stopped. My manager is being really evasive when asked about timelines or future plans, just repeating that things are 'being assessed.' It's a stark contrast to a few months ago. Definitely has me worried about job security and the company's direction.
