Performance review season feels... different this year

Anyone else feel like performance reviews at Lyft are carrying a heavier weight this cycle? Usually, it's a standard process, a bit of a formality, but this year it feels like they're really digging into metrics and justification for roles. Got my review yesterday and it was much more intense than usual, with a lot of emphasis on 'impact' and 'efficiency'. Even folks who consistently hit their targets seemed to get grilled. It's making me nervous, especially with all the chatter about potential reorganizations or 'optimizations' that have been floating around for a while. Trying not to jump to conclusions, but the atmosphere feels tense. Just wondering if others are experiencing a similar vibe during this review period. Is this just my manager being tough, or is it a company-wide thing?

Yeah, I'm feeling it too. It's definitely not just you. The whole vibe around reviews has shifted. It feels less like a check-in and more like a justification of existence, which is pretty stressful. I've heard from a few people that their managers were really pushing hard on specific deliverables and questioning how individual contributions directly tie into the bigger company goals. It's making me wonder what the long-term implications are for promotions or even just job security. Hopefully, it's just a temporary phase.
