Post-April layoff vibes - are we safe or just on standby?

So, we saw the 133 cut in late April, but the mood in the hallways has been absolutely toxic ever since. It’s the 'survivor guilt' mixed with straight-up anxiety. I keep seeing people leave, either getting pushed out or just quitting because they can't handle the uncertainty anymore. If you’re still here, what’s your strategy? I’ve been quietly updating my resume, but the market looks brutal right now. I don’t even know if it’s worth sticking around for the next RSU vest date if the company is just going to keep slicing chunks off every few months. The 'efficiency' phase is starting to feel like a death by a thousand cuts. Is there anyone left in middle management who actually knows what the roadmap is, or are we all just flying blind at this point?

Honestly, the vibe is off across the board. I stopped caring about the vest dates months ago because the stock performance and the constant restructuring make it feel like a moving target. I’m spending my office hours applying elsewhere. If you aren't already interviewing, you’re playing a dangerous game. It’s better to have an offer in hand than to wait for the next shoe to drop, because the silence from leadership is telling enough.

I'm choosing to stay put for now, mostly because the market is genuinely terrifying. I’ve seen peers struggle for months to find anything comparable, so I’m focusing on head-down work and keeping my name out of the rumor mill. It’s definitely draining, but until I have a concrete lead, I’m treating this as a paycheck rather than a career milestone. Just try to find a small group of coworkers you trust and vent privately; it’s the only way to keep your sanity.
