Anyone else feeling uneasy about headcount 'adjustments'?

Been at Mastercard for almost 7 years now, in the tech division. I've seen the company grow like crazy, and honestly, it feels like we're bloated. My team's been 're-orged' twice in the past year, and each time, it feels like shuffling deck chairs on the Titanic. Heard some whispers from a buddy in Finance about 'efficiency initiatives' and 'resource optimization.' I'm not dumb; that usually translates to layoffs. Anyone else getting the same vibes? Especially with the market the way it is...

Yeah, I'm feeling it too. Been here a similar amount of time, different division. The constant restructuring is exhausting and morale-killing. Seems like leadership is more focused on optics than actual improvements. If they're going to do layoffs, they should just be upfront about it instead of this slow-burn anxiety. It's not like any of us are stupid.

Honestly, a bit surprised it's taken this long. Mastercard has been on a hiring spree for years. Some streamlining probably *is* necessary, but the way they're going about it feels unnecessarily secretive and stressful. Brush up your resume and start networking, just in case. Best to be prepared, even if nothing happens. Better safe than sorry!
