Leadership gaslighting us about 'strategic realignment'

Is anyone else tired of the corporate speak in the recent town halls? They keep hitting us with the 'strategic realignment' narrative while profit margins are actually trending upward. It’s impossible to ignore the cognitive dissonance. We’re being told we need to be more efficient, but the workload hasn't decreased—they just expect the survivors to absorb the tasks of the 93 people who were just shown the door. It feels like the culture has shifted entirely toward short-term optics for the shareholders rather than actually valuing the people who build the products. I’m seeing people who have been here a decade getting axed via Zoom calls. The transparency is non-existent, and the 'open door' policy is a joke. Just needed to vent because the morale in my department is effectively at zero right now. If you're currently interviewing elsewhere, don't look back—the internal vibe here is becoming toxic.

The 'strategic realignment' buzzword is getting old fast. It’s the same playbook every quarter: trim the headcount to inflate the EPS for the shareholders while the remaining staff gets crushed under the weight of the work left behind. They want us to believe we're doing more with less for the sake of the 'vision,' but it’s really just about making the books look pretty for the next earnings call. Don’t buy the narrative—everyone knows the margins are healthy, they just value the stock price more than the people actually generating the revenue.

I honestly stopped listening to the town halls months ago. It’s all just scripted theater designed to distract us from the fact that we’re being treated like disposable assets. When leadership starts talking about efficiency while simultaneously offloading the work of dozens onto a smaller team, they’ve already checked out. It’s exhausting to pretend that these cuts are about a 'strategic pivot' when we all see exactly what’s happening. Just keep your head down, update your resume, and remember that loyalty to this place is a one-way street.
