Mastercard - Any whispers about potential headcount freeze?

Hey everyone, Been working at MC for a couple of years now, and lately, the vibe feels a bit off. My manager keeps giving vague answers when asked about new hires for our team, and I've noticed a significant slowdown in internal job postings. It's not like we're hearing about layoffs directly, but the lack of movement is definitely noticeable. Anyone else in different departments picking up on the same signals? Is it just a general market slowdown affecting us, or is there something more specific happening at Mastercard? Curious to hear if others are experiencing a similar hiring pause or just a general sense of caution from leadership. Trying not to read too much into it, but it's hard not to wonder. Thoughts?

I've been seeing similar trends in my division. Lots of projects seem to be on hold or significantly scaled back. The usual buzz around new initiatives just isn't there. It's hard to say if it's a company-wide directive or just a sector-specific caution, but the lack of new hires and slower pace of internal movement is definitely a talking point among my colleagues too.

Interesting to hear others are noticing this. We haven't had a headcount freeze officially announced, but there's definitely a tightening of the belt. Budgets for training and travel have been slashed, and any new role requires serious justification. It feels like a period of consolidation rather than expansion, which is a shift from a few years ago.
