Mastercard - Anyone else's team hiring on pause?

Curious if anyone has heard anything concrete about hiring freezes or slowdowns at Mastercard. I know there wasn't a big public layoff announcement like some other tech/fintech companies, but I've noticed that several open reqs on my team have gone dark. Plus, the usual pipeline for new roles seems to have dried up significantly over the last quarter. We've got a few critical spots we're trying to fill, but management seems hesitant to push anything forward without some serious justification. It feels like the purse strings are being tightened, even if it's not officially a 'freeze'. Has anyone else applied for roles recently and experienced long delays or outright cancellations? Or are managers in other departments seeing the same thing? Trying to get a sense of the broader picture beyond my immediate network. Might be a good time to batten down the hatches if this is a wider trend.

Yeah, I've definitely felt the same vibe over here. A few roles that were supposed to open up have been pushed back indefinitely. It's frustrating because we're stretched pretty thin as is, and filling these critical positions feels like it's become an uphill battle. Management keeps talking about 'strategic alignment' and 'prioritization,' which I guess is code for 'we're not hiring unless it's absolutely mission-critical and we can prove it's worth the investment right now.' Hopefully, things will pick up soon, but the current mood is definitely one of caution.
