Mastercard - Performance review cycle feels intense this year

This year's performance review cycle at Mastercard feels way more intense than usual. I'm hearing from colleagues across different teams that their managers are really digging into metrics and setting extremely high bars for ratings. It's making me a bit anxious, especially with the current economic climate. Normally, reviews are just a formality, but this year it feels like there's a lot more pressure to 'prove' your value. Some people are even worried about their performance impacting bonus payouts or, worse, job security. Is anyone else feeling this heightened scrutiny? Is this a company-wide push, or is it department-specific? Just trying to gauge if this is something I need to be particularly worried about or if it's just the general mood right now. Any insights would be appreciated.

I'm feeling this too. My manager has been super focused on quantifiable results lately, and the expectation for exceeding targets seems to have skyrocketed. It's definitely added a layer of stress to the usual review process. I hope it's not indicative of broader issues within the company, but it's hard not to worry about bonuses and future opportunities when the goalposts keep moving.

Yeah, it's definitely more pressure than I remember from previous years. It feels like they're really scrutinizing every aspect of performance, and the feedback loop has been much more rigorous. I'm trying to stay positive and focus on what I can control, but the overall sentiment is definitely one of heightened anxiety across the board. Hoping for a fair assessment despite the intensity.
