Quiet cuts happening in O'Fallon and Purchase?

Is it just me, or is the 'efficiency' rhetoric getting worse? I know the Chautauqua numbers just hit the WARN notice, but the vibe in the office has been incredibly tense lately. I’ve heard whispers of more departments being scrutinized for 'redundancies' even though the earnings reports look decent on paper. It feels like they are trimming the fat to pad the margins for shareholders while the rest of us are just grinding through the Q4 initiatives. Has anyone else heard if there's a wider plan behind these 93 roles, or are we just looking at standard end-of-year house cleaning? My manager keeps pivoting the conversation whenever I bring up headcount stability. Starting to feel like my badge might stop working any Tuesday now.

The mood here is definitely shifting. It’s frustrating because management keeps touting these record-breaking earnings, yet everyone is looking over their shoulder waiting for the next round of cuts. They call it 'strategic realignment' or 'streamlining operations,' but we all know it’s just about keeping the stock price inflated for the next earnings call. It makes it impossible to focus on Q4 goals when you're worried about your badge working on Monday. The transparency is non-existent, and the 'family' culture we were promised has completely evaporated under the pressure to pad those margins.

I wouldn't be surprised if the whispers you're hearing are spot on. Upper management has been obsessed with overhead reduction for months, and unfortunately, headcount is always the easiest lever to pull to make the quarterly numbers pop. It’s a classic cycle—sacrifice the workforce to appease the shareholders, even when the business is performing well. Don't expect any direct answers from leadership either; they’ll keep the 'efficiency' buzzwords going until the very last minute. Best advice is to keep your resume updated and stay quiet until the smoke clears, because the vibe isn't going to get any better before the year ends.
