Severance packages for the latest round - any details?

Just got the news today that my role is officially on the list for the Oct 20th transition. Honestly, I’m a bit numb. I’ve been with the team for over four years and saw the writing on the wall after the earnings call, but it still stings when it lands in your inbox. I’m trying to figure out if there’s any consistency in the severance packages being offered for this specific round. Has anyone seen the actual paperwork yet? Is it strictly the standard formula, or are they offering any extra runway for those of us with longer tenure? I’m mostly worried about health insurance coverage and whether they’re being stingy with the COBRA subsidy. If anyone is willing to share (anonymously, of course), it would help me manage my expectations before I talk to HR tomorrow. Hang in there to everyone else stuck in this limbo.

I'm really sorry to hear you're going through this. I was let go back in the spring, and from what I’ve seen, the packages are pretty rigid. They usually stick to the standard formula based strictly on years of service. Don't expect much wiggle room on the base payout, as HR seems to have a very specific script they follow for these rounds. Definitely check if your specific contract mentions any accelerated vesting for RSUs, as that's often where the biggest difference lies. Take a few days to process everything before you sign anything, and make sure you clarify exactly how your health benefits wrap up at the end of the month.

That is brutal news, and I’m sorry you’re dealing with the uncertainty right now. Based on the chatter across the internal boards and what I heard from a friend in another department, it seems like management is trying to keep things uniform to avoid any potential legal headaches. It’s almost certainly the standard package. If you’re looking for extra runway, your best bet is to push hard on outplacement services or see if you can negotiate a slightly later 'end date' to keep your insurance active for a few more weeks. Hang in there; the market is tough, but your experience here still carries a lot of weight elsewhere.
