Anyone else feeling super anxious about potential cuts at Micron?

I've been at Micron for 7 years now, in the NAND development group. Lately, the atmosphere has been really tense. Meetings are shorter, people seem stressed, and the coffee machine is constantly out of order (a truly terrible omen!). I know the whole industry is a bit shaky right now, and our stock hasn't been doing great. Has anyone else heard anything specific about potential layoffs? Or is it just my anxiety getting the better of me? My wife is pregnant and a layoff would be devastating. I really love my team and I'd hate to see anyone go. Trying to stay positive but it's getting harder every day. Any insights would be appreciated.

I've been through similar cycles before, though not at Micron. Honestly, the coffee machine thing *is* a bad sign! Seriously though, start updating your resume and discreetly networking. It's better to be prepared than caught off guard. Even if it's just anxiety, having a plan B will ease your mind. Good luck, especially with the baby on the way.

Honestly, seven years is a decent run. While layoffs are always a possibility given the current economic climate, I wouldn't jump to conclusions just yet based on 'tense meetings' and coffee problems. Every company has periods like that. Focus on performing your best, document your accomplishments, and try to stay positive. Worrying excessively won't help your situation and could negatively impact your work.
