Anyone else hearing whispers? Feeling nervous...

I'm on the content strategy team, been here for almost 4 years now. Usually I'm pretty chill, but lately the vibes have been...off. My manager's been super vague in meetings, and a couple of projects I was supposed to lead have been quietly reassigned. I know the stock hasn't been doing amazing, and with all the streaming competition, I can't help but wonder if we're heading for layoffs. Anyone else getting a bad feeling? Am I just being paranoid?

Yeah, I've been feeling it too. I'm in engineering, and there's been a definite slowdown in hiring. Plus, they keep pushing this narrative of 'efficiency' in every all-hands meeting, which is usually code for budget cuts. It might just be corporate restructuring, but honestly, given the current climate, preparing for the worst isn't a bad idea. Update your resume, discreetly connect with recruiters. Hope for the best, but be ready for anything.

Honestly, it could be anything. Managers often get vague when they themselves don't know what's going on or are being kept in the dark. Reassigned projects happen all the time due to shifting priorities, especially in a place as dynamic as Netflix. Unless you're hearing concrete rumors from reliable sources, I wouldn't jump to conclusions about layoffs. Just focus on your work and try not to let the paranoia get to you. Easier said than done, I know!
