Is it just me or is the 'leaner' approach starting to bite?

Remember that memo from a while back about being more efficient and agile? Well, it feels like we're really leaning into that now, maybe a little too much. Things that used to be straightforward are suddenly requiring multiple approvals, and there's a definite feeling of 'doing more with less' that's starting to feel like 'doing more with less people'. I'm not seeing any explicit layoff announcements, but the underlying pressure to perform and justify every role is palpable. It's making work pretty stressful, wondering if you're next on the chopping block. Anyone else feeling this intense pressure?

Anyone else feeling the chill at Netflix?

Hearing some whispers around the office lately, nothing concrete but enough to get people talking. It's that usual pre-layoff vibe – budgets being scrutinized, projects suddenly put on hold, and a general sense of unease. I haven't seen any official comms, and my immediate team seems okay for now, but the rumor mill is churning pretty fast. Anyone else in a different department noticing anything similar? Just trying to gauge if it's company-wide or isolated. Trying not to panic but it's hard when you see other streamers making cuts.

I'm so freaking angry right now.

I'm sick of this constant uncertainty. We bust our asses day in and day out to deliver amazing content, only to have the rug potentially pulled out from under us at any moment. The leadership preaches about 'innovation' and 'risk-taking', but how are we supposed to be innovative when we're constantly worried about our jobs? It's demoralizing to constantly wonder if you'll be next. I get that it's a business, but the lack of transparency and communication is infuriating. Seriously considering jumping ship before this all blows up.

Severance package details - what to expect?

Hypothetically speaking, if layoffs WERE to happen, what's the standard severance package at Netflix these days? I've heard different things from different people. Is it based on tenure? Does your level matter? I'm trying to get a realistic idea of what to expect if the worst happens. Any insights would be appreciated. Also, does anyone know if they negotiate on the initial offer?

Is it just me, or is anyone else feeling the pre-layoff jitters?

I've been at Netflix for almost 5 years now, on the personalization team, and I can't shake this feeling that something's coming. I remember the last round of cuts a few years back, and the vibe feels eerily similar. The endless meetings about 'restructuring' and 'optimizing resources' are back. My manager's been super vague whenever I ask about future projects. Maybe I'm just being paranoid, but I'm starting to dust off my resume just in case. Anyone else sensing this too, or am I losing it?

Layoff Guilt is Eating Me Alive

I made it. Some of my closest teammates didn't. I'm a product manager, and honestly, I'm not sure *why* I'm still here. I haven't been able to focus on work. Every time I open my laptop, I just feel sick. They were better at their jobs than me. They had families. This is so messed up. I know logically it's not my fault, but how do you even deal with this? I'm supposed to be 'leading' now, but I just want to disappear.

Severance Package - Trying to mentally prepare

Okay, so assuming the worst happens, what should I expect for a severance package? I'm a senior engineer with 7 years at Netflix. I know it probably varies, but is it like, weeks per year of service? Months? Anyone been through this before at Netflix (or another big tech company) and have some insights? Trying to brace myself financially and understand what my runway might look like. Any advice appreciated!

Anyone else hearing whispers? Feeling nervous...

I'm on the content strategy team, been here for almost 4 years now. Usually I'm pretty chill, but lately the vibes have been...off. My manager's been super vague in meetings, and a couple of projects I was supposed to lead have been quietly reassigned. I know the stock hasn't been doing amazing, and with all the streaming competition, I can't help but wonder if we're heading for layoffs. Anyone else getting a bad feeling? Am I just being paranoid?
