I hear you loud and clear. It’s exhausting watching the company treat talent like disposable assets just to move the needle on a balance sheet. The 'strategic realignment' talk is nothing more than a thin veil for poor management choices that consistently prioritize short-term stock bumps over the people who actually build the products. After a certain point, the culture just completely dies, and it feels like we’re all just waiting for the next round of cuts instead of actually doing our jobs. It’s draining to see tenured folks discarded like they never mattered.
You aren't alone, though I think the corporate playbook at News Corp has been transparent for a long time. These restructures are a repetitive cycle designed to appease shareholders at the absolute expense of institutional knowledge. Those town halls are performative at best; they never address the systemic decline in morale. If you’ve been there a decade, you’ve likely seen this play out multiple times, but the current pace of these layoffs feels particularly cold. Take care of yourself and start looking elsewhere, because they certainly aren't looking out for anyone but the bottom line.
