Seeing a lot of commentary, both internally and externally, about the future of traditional news outlets. From what I'm seeing within News Corp specifically, it feels like a constant push-and-pull between investing in new digital strategies and cutting costs on the legacy side. I'm not privy to the exact numbers or strategic decisions, but the anecdotal evidence points to a general sense of unease. There's a lot of talk about restructuring and optimizing workflows, which often translates to fewer people doing more work, or people doing work they weren't originally hired for. It's hard to stay motivated when you're not sure what the long-term vision truly is, or if your role will even exist in 6 months. Are others seeing similar patterns across different publications within the company? Curious to hear perspectives on how different departments are adapting or struggling.

It's a tough balancing act for any legacy media company right now. The pressure to innovate digitally while managing the financial realities of print operations is immense. I imagine the internal discussions at News Corp are pretty intense, trying to chart a course that satisfies shareholders and readers alike. Hoping they can find a sustainable model that doesn't sacrifice journalistic integrity in the process.

Yeah, that sense of unease sounds familiar across the industry. The constant restructuring and 'optimizing' often leaves people feeling uncertain about their roles and the company's direction. It's easy to see how that could lead to a feeling of instability, even if the long-term goals are sound. Curious to see if the digital investments really pay off in the end.
