1400 more cuts. How's the morale in your department?

Just saw the news about another 1400 layoffs hitting Nike. Sixes... feels like every time I blink, there's another round of cuts. It's starting to feel less like a strategic realignment and more like constant damage control. Wondering how this is affecting people's day-to-day. Are teams still collaborating, or is everyone just looking out for themselves and hoarding knowledge? My own team is small, but the buzz is definitely there. People are quiet, asking questions in hushed tones. This $2B cost-cutting narrative is getting old. What's really going on behind the scenes? Anyone in leadership have any insight, or are we all just waiting for the next axe to fall?

It's pretty grim here, to be honest. The 'strategic realignment' talk feels hollow when you see these numbers. You can cut staff, but you can't cut the uncertainty. People are definitely more guarded, and the fear of being next is palpable. Collaboration is suffering; why help someone else if they might be gone next week and you're left holding the bag? The constant news cycle adds to the anxiety, making it tough to focus on the actual work. It feels like we're running on fumes and a lot of unspoken dread.
