It is honestly sickening to watch from the outside. I have friends in the design department who have been there for over a decade, and they are being treated like replaceable line items on a spreadsheet. The lack of transparency from leadership is clearly intentional to keep people quiet until the very last minute. If you are still in the building, protect your mental health and start dusting off that resume immediately. Loyalty at Nike has been dead for a long time, and this latest round of cuts proves they do not care who you are.

Everyone keeps acting surprised by these layoffs, but the writing has been on the wall for months. When a company stops innovating and starts obsessed with 'streamlining' to appease shareholders, the rank-and-file employees are always the first ones sacrificed.
