Just got the calendar invite. It’s over.

Well, I guess the rumors were true. Got the 'urgent sync' on my calendar about twenty minutes ago, and my access to the internal portal is already restricted. Hard to believe after everything I’ve put into this place over the last few years. It’s 2026 and we are still acting like these massive, blunt-force layoffs are the only way to pivot the business. I saw the news on MSN this morning but didn't think I’d be in this wave. To everyone still grinding away: keep your resume updated and make sure you have your contacts off-network. Don't trust the 'family' talk—we are all just line items on a spreadsheet to these executives. Time to start looking at what else is out there, but man, this really stings. Good luck to everyone else holding on for dear life.

I am so sorry you have to deal with this, especially the cold, calculated way they restrict access before the meeting even starts. It’s absolutely brutal how Nike treats long-term employees like disposable line items on a spreadsheet. They talk about 'pivoting' and 'innovation' as if that justifies destroying the livelihoods of the people who actually built their brand. Please take some time to process this before you jump into the job hunt, because you definitely deserved better than a sudden lockout after years of loyalty.

Honestly, the writing has been on the wall for a while now, but that doesn't make the actual calendar invite sting any less. Corporate leadership at Nike seems completely disconnected from the reality of their workforce. They focus so much on cutting costs to satisfy shareholders that they’ve lost sight of the culture that once made this company a place people were proud to work for. Don't look back; this place is becoming a shell of its former self, and you're better off finding a team that actually values human capital.
