Typically, severance is tied to your years of service. Companies often offer one to two weeks of pay per year. Four years could mean a month or two of salary. Beyond that, check your offer letter and employee handbook for official policy. COBRA is standard for continued health insurance, but Nike might offer a bridge, extending coverage for a bit longer. Don't be afraid to discreetly reach out to HR to clarify the official policy without raising suspicion. Good luck!
Honestly, 'hypothetically' sounds like you know something. Layoffs at Nike are rare, but never impossible. Don't get your hopes up for some massive package. They'll likely follow the legal minimum, which is state-dependent. Focus on sharpening your resume and networking internally and externally, just in case. Being proactive with your job search will put you in a better position regardless of any severance they offer.
