It is getting exhausting to keep hearing those same corporate buzzwords right before the axe falls. We were promised a focus on innovation and product excellence, but now it feels like every quarter is just about massaging the numbers to keep Wall Street happy. The constant uncertainty makes it impossible to commit to long-term projects when you’re constantly looking over your shoulder wondering if your department is next on the chopping block. At this point, the morale has plummeted to new lows and the transparency from the top is virtually nonexistent.
Honestly, the constant restructuring is starting to feel like a structural failure rather than a fix. You can't claim to be the identity layer of the internet while simultaneously gutting the very teams that build and maintain those systems. Losing 56 people might look like a line item improvement on a spreadsheet, but the brain drain is real. The culture here has shifted from being mission-driven to purely survival-mode, and it’s clearly taking a toll on those of us still stuck in the building.
