Just saw the official notification hit the internal portal. They’re calling it a reduction in force affecting 114 roles here in Austin. The separation date is set for March 8th. I’ve been hearing whispers about headcount tightening for the last quarter, but seeing the actual WARN notice pop up makes it feel way too real. Honestly, morale in the office is subterranean right now. People are staring at their calendars, wondering if their manager is going to schedule a 'sync' that ends up being the end of their career here. If you’re in Austin and you haven't heard anything yet, hopefully you’re in the clear, but keep your LinkedIn updated just in case. Does anyone know if they are offering the standard severance package or is it getting slashed like everything else lately? Stay safe everyone.

That is brutal news for the Austin team. I have been through a few of these cycles at ON over the years, and the 'sync' anxiety is the absolute worst part of the process. It is impossible to stay focused when you are constantly checking your inbox for a calendar invite from HR. My heart goes out to everyone affected—take care of yourselves and start reaching out to your network immediately if you have not already. This industry feels particularly unstable lately.

Another round of cuts? It feels like the company is just hacking away at the foundation while trying to push the 'growth' narrative in the quarterly reports. They talk about efficiency, but they are burning through institutional knowledge and loyalty. If you are one of the 114, do not take it personally; it is just a spreadsheet exercise for them. Hopefully, you find a landing spot with a company that actually values its people. Good luck to everyone currently stuck in the waiting game.
