Feeling the chill at ONEOK... anyone else hearing whispers?

Hey everyone, been at ONEOK for about 5 years now, working in the engineering department on the midstream side. Lately, there's been this weird vibe around the office. People are a bit more quiet, meetings feel a little more tense, and I've noticed a couple of my colleagues in other departments who used to be really chatty now seem a bit withdrawn. No official announcements or anything, but it feels like something's brewing. My manager has been really cagey when I've asked about team stability, just giving generic 'we're focused on performance' answers. Just wondering if anyone else is picking up on this or if I'm just being paranoid. Are there specific teams or roles that seem to be getting more scrutiny? Any intel would be appreciated, trying to brace myself just in case.

I'm in a different division, but I've definitely picked up on a similar feeling. It's like a general unease that's hard to put a finger on. My team hasn't heard anything concrete either, but the whispers are definitely there. Just trying to focus on my work and stay positive, but it's tough when the atmosphere feels off. Hope it's just a temporary thing and we all get some clarity soon.

Could just be the general economic climate causing some anxiety. Midstream isn't immune to market fluctuations, even if it's perceived as more stable than E&P. Maybe your manager is being cagey because there's no definitive news to share yet, and speculation would only make things worse. Focus on what you can control - your performance and staying informed through official channels when they become available.
