ONEOK - Anyone else reviewing their emergency fund?

Alright, confession time. The constant chatter online about economic slowdowns and potential industry contractions is starting to get to me. I'm not hearing direct layoff talk at ONEOK, and my team's workload hasn't changed dramatically, but the *feeling* of uncertainty is definitely there. It's made me a lot more proactive about my personal finances. I've been diligently beefing up my emergency fund, paying down debt faster than planned, and updating my resume just in case. It feels a bit like preparing for a storm when the sky is only partly cloudy, but better safe than sorry, you know? Is anyone else in a similar boat? Not necessarily expecting the worst, but taking extra precautions because of the general economic climate and how it *could* impact our sector. Curious to know if this is just me being overly cautious or if others are feeling the need to shore up their personal 'ducks in a row' too. What are your thoughts?

Totally get where you're coming from. It's wise to be prepared, even if things seem stable day-to-day. I've also been reassessing my emergency savings, aiming for a bit more buffer than I had previously. Better safe than sorry, especially with all the economic noise out there. It’s good to have that peace of mind knowing you’ve got a cushion if things were to shift unexpectedly. Keep up the good work on those finances!

I understand the unease. While my day-to-day at ONEOK feels normal, the broader economic headlines do make you pause and think. I’m not hearing anything alarming either, but I’ve definitely been reviewing my personal financial situation. A little extra preparedness never hurts, and focusing on building that emergency fund gives a sense of control amidst the uncertainty. Good call on staying proactive.
