Hey, totally understand the concern. It's smart to be thinking ahead. I haven't personally experienced layoffs there, but from what I've heard from former colleagues at similar energy companies, severance is often a mix of base pay (usually a week or two per year of service) plus continued health benefits for a period. Your role level might also factor in. Definitely gather your performance reviews and any documentation highlighting your contributions – that's always a good starting point if you do need to negotiate.
Honestly, I think focusing too much on severance right now might be premature. While I get the 'worst-case scenario' planning, ONEOK has historically been pretty stable, especially with the infrastructure focus. Unless there's concrete news, I'd focus on doing your job well and keeping your skills sharp. If something does happen, that's the time to worry about packages. Until then, try not to let the general unease consume you.
