Just saw the news about Oracle cutting 500, and it's hitting pretty close to home. I'm in Cloud Infrastructure, specifically on the Ops side, and we've been feeling the pressure for a while. Heard whispers, but this makes it real. Anyone else on the Cloud Infra teams (or adjacent) get a heads-up or feel the impact directly? My manager's been really tight-lipped, but the vibe is definitely off. Been here 4 years and never seen it this unstable. Curious if it's team-specific or a broader sweep across Infra. Any intel on severance packages or what the timeline looks like would be helpful too. Trying to prepare for the worst.

Yeah, I'm in a related group and the tension is definitely palpable. My team hasn't gotten official word but there's a general feeling of unease. Heard similar stories from folks in networking. It's unsettling to see this after putting in a solid few years. Hoping it's a targeted restructuring and not a sign of bigger issues down the line. Hang in there, man. It's a tough environment right now for sure.

Haven't heard anything specific about cuts in my division, but 'pressure' is an understatement. Seems like we're constantly being asked to do more with less, and the roadmap keeps shifting. My advice? Start updating your resume and networking outside the company. It's always good to have options, especially when the ground feels shaky. Don't put all your eggs in one basket, and try not to let the uncertainty get to you too much.
