Severance packages after the latest Oracle cuts - anyone have details?

The news of another ~500 layoffs dropped on June 27th, and while the numbers are smaller than some of the previous rounds, it's still tough for those affected. I'm more curious about the severance packages being offered this time around. I've seen some chatter on other platforms about previous layoffs where the severance wasn't great, especially regarding accelerated vesting of RSUs. Some people felt like they were left high and dry, particularly if they were close to a vesting date. Are the terms consistent across these recent rounds, or are they changing? If anyone here was impacted by this latest wave or has friends who were, and are willing to share (anonymously, of course), what did the package look like? Anything beyond the standard weeks per year of service? Did it include any help with healthcare continuation or outplacement services? Just trying to get a sense of what to expect if the worst happens.

Another round, another ~500 gone. What's the endgame?

Just saw the news about another 500 layoffs hitting Oracle as of Friday, June 27th. This is getting ridiculous. Feels like we're constantly in some kind of restructuring or reduction. I know we're a big company, but the sheer volume of these cuts over the past year or two is concerning. Rumors are always flying about which departments are next. Is this just the new normal for big enterprise software companies, or is something specific happening at Oracle? I've seen reports of them spending big on AI infrastructure, and some articles linking the layoffs to that, but it's hard to reconcile cutting thousands of people with massive investments. Makes you wonder about job security, especially if you're not directly in one of the 'hot' areas. Anyone else feeling the uncertainty? What are people hearing internally about the strategy behind these constant workforce adjustments?

Severance negotiation tactics for Oracle layoffs?

So, like many others, I was part of the recent cuts. I was in a mid-level engineering role within the Fusion Apps group, working there for about 5 years. The severance offered is... not what I was expecting. It's a standard X weeks per year of service, but I feel like given my contributions and the specific team that was disbanded, there might be some room to negotiate. Has anyone here had experience pushing back or negotiating better terms with Oracle during a layoff situation? Any specific points that seemed to resonate with HR or management? I'm trying to figure out if it's worth the effort or if they're usually pretty firm on their initial offers. Any advice or shared experiences would be hugely appreciated as I figure out my next steps.

Feeling completely blindsided by my Oracle layoff...

Still reeling from the news on Friday. I've been with Oracle for 8 years, primarily in the CX division, focusing on a specific product suite that I genuinely thought was solid. My manager called me in Friday afternoon, gave me the standard HR speech, and that was it. No warning, no performance issues, nothing. I was just told my role was eliminated. Honestly, I thought I was safe, especially after hitting my targets last quarter. It's such a punch to the gut. The severance package seems okay, but the uncertainty is what's really getting to me. Feels like I poured so much into this place and now... poof. Just looking to see if anyone else in a similar boat, especially from the sales or customer success side of CX, got hit and how you're all processing this. Trying to stay positive, but it's tough right now.

Got laid off from OCI - severance question

Well, it finally happened. Was on the OCI database team and got the news yesterday, same day as the Mint report. Been with Oracle for 6 years, pretty solid performer too, so this one stings. They offered a pretty standard severance package: 2 weeks per year of service, plus 3 months of COBRA. My main question is, has anyone negotiated this before? The offer feels a little low for my tenure, especially given the market. Did anyone have success getting them to increase it, or add other benefits like outplacement services? My skip-level was sympathetic but offered no room for negotiation. Just want to know if it's worth pushing back or if this is pretty much the standard offer across the board. Trying to figure out my next steps.

Anyone else from Cloud Infrastructure hear about the June 27th cuts?

Just saw the news about Oracle cutting 500, and it's hitting pretty close to home. I'm in Cloud Infrastructure, specifically on the Ops side, and we've been feeling the pressure for a while. Heard whispers, but this makes it real. Anyone else on the Cloud Infra teams (or adjacent) get a heads-up or feel the impact directly? My manager's been really tight-lipped, but the vibe is definitely off. Been here 4 years and never seen it this unstable. Curious if it's team-specific or a broader sweep across Infra. Any intel on severance packages or what the timeline looks like would be helpful too. Trying to prepare for the worst.

Heard about a potential role in [specific department] - interview tips?

Hey all, I've been contacted by a recruiter about a potential position in [specific department, e.g., 'Fusion Applications support'] and while I'm not actively looking, the role sounds interesting. I've been with Oracle in a different line of business [e.g., 'Middleware development'] for about 5 years, so I know the company culture, but I don't have much experience in that particular area. Anyone have any insights into the interview process for [specific department]? What kind of questions should I expect? Any tips on how to prepare? Any red flags I should be aware of? Thanks in advance!

Just survived another round... feeling guilty AF

So, another round of cuts hit our team today. I made it through, but a lot of good people didn't. People I've worked with for years, people who are genuinely talented and dedicated. Now I'm sitting here, feeling like I won some kind of sick lottery. I'm grateful to still have a job, obviously, but this survivor guilt is crushing me. Anyone else been through this? How do you deal with it? I feel like I should be doing something, but I don't even know what. Reaching out to my former colleagues, of course, but it feels so inadequate. This sucks.

Is anyone else's org suddenly 'restructuring' like crazy?

I'm in Cloud Infrastructure, been here almost 7 years, and the word 'restructuring' is suddenly EVERYWHERE. My manager can't give a straight answer, just corporate buzzwords. We had a re-org like, a year and a half ago, and things were just starting to settle down. Now this? Is anyone else seeing this in their org? Is this the quiet before the storm? I'm updating my resume just in case. The lack of transparency is making me crazy. Seriously considering jumping ship if this keeps up. Anyone else feeling the same?

Severance Package - What should I expect?

Hypothetically speaking, if layoffs were to happen (again), what kind of severance package is Oracle typically offering these days? I know it varies based on tenure and level, but I'm curious about recent examples. I’m a Principal Engineer with 12 years at Oracle. Trying to get a sense of what I might be entitled to, so I can be prepared to negotiate if necessary. Also, does anyone know how they handle unused vacation time? Is that paid out, or do you lose it? Thanks in advance for any insights!

Hearing whispers about re-orgs in CX... anyone know anything concrete?

Okay, so I'm in the CX (Customer Experience) org, and the rumor mill is churning overtime. I’ve heard whispers about a possible restructuring, with some roles being consolidated and others… well, you know. Specifically, I'm hearing that some of the smaller product teams might be on the chopping block. Has anyone heard anything more specific? Any idea on potential timelines? Trying to figure out if it's just water cooler talk or if I should seriously start prepping for the worst. My manager is saying everything's fine, but they always do, right?

Anyone else feel like the sword of Damocles is hanging over their head?

I'm in cloud infrastructure, been here about 7 years now. I remember the Sun acquisition, and this feels... different. Back then, it felt more strategic. Now, it's just pure cost-cutting pressure. My skip-level keeps talking about 'efficiency gains' and 'streamlining'. They’re vague, but it doesn’t take a genius to read between the lines. Anyone else noticing increased scrutiny on their team's performance, or projects getting quietly shelved? I’m updating my resume, not gonna lie. Even if nothing happens, it's better to be prepared than caught off guard. This constant anxiety is killing morale.
