Is the RSU situation getting worse for anyone else?

Has anyone else noticed that the severance packages in this latest wave seem even leaner than the ones from last year? I was speaking with a colleague who got hit this morning, and the lack of accelerated vesting for RSUs is honestly brutal. It feels like they are timing these cuts specifically to prevent people from hitting their next cliff. I’ve been here for over six years and watching the culture shift from 'employee-focused' to 'burn and churn' has been demoralizing. We’re all just a line item on a spreadsheet to them at this point. It’s hard to stay motivated when you’re constantly wondering if your VPN access will work when you log on tomorrow morning. Has anyone had any luck negotiating their exit terms, or are they just giving everyone the same canned 'take it or leave it' email? It feels like the company is just cannibalizing its own workforce to fund these massive AI infrastructure bets, but eventually, there won’t be enough institutional knowledge left to actually run the systems.

It’s absolutely brutal right now. I’ve been tracking the timing of these waves, and it’s hard not to feel like the lack of accelerated vesting is a calculated move to pad the bottom line at our expense. After years of grinding through endless cycles of reorgs, seeing them squeeze loyal employees out just before a cliff is a new low. The transparency is non-existent and morale has hit rock bottom. At this point, it feels like they’re just waiting for the next quarterly report to justify cutting anyone with a decent tenure. Honestly, polish your resume and get out while you can.
