Gas City severance packages - what are they actually offering?

Sorry to those who got caught up in the Nov 2nd round at Gas City. My heart goes out to the 72 of you. Since this is the first big wave we've seen in a minute, does anyone know if they are offering any decent severance or are they just giving everyone the bare minimum? I know HR usually hides behind the 'we provide standard support' line, but I’m curious if anyone has successfully negotiated more or if it’s strictly a 'take it or leave it' deal this time around. I’m currently in a different division, but after seeing this announcement, I don't feel nearly as secure as I did three months ago. PAC used to be a place where you could ride it out until retirement, but that culture is clearly dead. If you're affected, please chime in with what the packet actually looks like—it’ll help the rest of us understand how serious they are about slashing headcount. Stay strong out there.

From what I’ve gathered talking to a few folks affected by the Gas City cuts, it is strictly a take-it-or-leave-it situation. They aren't budging on the standard package, and HR is being extremely tight-lipped during the exit interviews. It’s definitely on the lower end compared to what we’ve seen in previous years. Don't waste your energy trying to negotiate; they have their corporate script ready and they aren't deviating from it for anyone. Best to just review the paperwork carefully and move on to your next chapter as quickly as possible.

I’m really sorry you’re dealing with this right now. It is incredibly frustrating how they frame these 'standard' packages as if they are doing us a huge favor. At Gas City, the offer is pretty much the bare minimum required by law plus a few weeks of continuation, depending on your tenure. I tried to push back on the details regarding my benefits, but they basically shut down the conversation immediately. It feels like a very cold process, but keep your head up and reach out to your network—there are much better opportunities out there than what they're offering.
