Anyone else feeling uneasy? Performance reviews coming up...

Is it just me, or does anyone else have a really bad feeling about the upcoming performance reviews? I've been at Palo Alto Networks for almost 5 years now, in a sales engineering role. I usually get pretty good reviews, but lately, the vibe just feels...off. There's been a lot of talk about "efficiency" and "optimization" in our team meetings. My manager keeps mentioning that they are trying to cut costs. It just feels like they're setting the stage for something. Anyone else feeling the same way? Am I just being paranoid?

Totally feeling it too. I'm in a similar boat but only been here 2 years, also SE. The increased scrutiny and cost-cutting language definitely raise red flags. Start documenting your achievements *now*, even things that seem small. Quantify your impact wherever possible. It's easier to defend your value if you have solid data to back it up. Good luck!

Honestly, I think you're probably overthinking it. "Efficiency" and "optimization" are just corporate buzzwords they throw around all the time. Palo Alto Networks has always been focused on the bottom line. Unless your numbers are way off, I wouldn't sweat it too much. Just go in prepared to discuss your accomplishments and you'll be fine. Don't let the anxiety get to you before the review even happens!
