Thoughts on PANW's recent hiring freeze rumors?

Been hearing whispers through the grapevine about a hiring freeze across several departments at Palo Alto Networks. It's not official, but several recruiters I've spoken with for roles there have mentioned things have gone quiet. My own team's headcount request for a new engineer was recently put on hold indefinitely. When I brought it up, my manager just said they're "optimizing talent acquisition" and "focusing on critical roles." Doesn't sound great, especially given the company's growth trajectory over the past few years. Is this a sign of belt-tightening? We've seen a lot of new products and acquisitions recently, which usually means more hiring, not less. Wondering if the market is finally catching up, or if there are internal pressures we aren't privy to. Anyone else seeing this firsthand or heard more concrete info? Trying to gauge if this is a temporary pause or a sign of a bigger shift. It's making me reconsider my own future here, honestly. Always liked PANW, but this uncertainty is starting to weigh.

Anyone else feeling the churn at PANW?

Hey everyone, been with PANW for a few years now and lately, things just feel… off. There's been a lot of talk about "reorgs" and "strategic shifts" across different teams. My team has seen a few people go unexpectedly over the last quarter, and the general vibe is just a bit tense. Management keeps saying everything is fine, but the constant restructuring and quiet departures are making me nervous. I've been looking at other opportunities just to have a safety net. Anyone else in a similar boat or experiencing this? Curious to hear if this is widespread or just my department. Not trying to spread panic, just trying to get a pulse on things from others. It's tough when you feel like you're walking on eggshells. My manager is usually pretty transparent, but even they're being tight-lipped about the future. Wondering if it's just the usual cybersecurity market fluctuations or something more specific to PANW. Anyone have insights into what's really going on behind the scenes?

Worried about vesting - should I jump ship now?

I'm a relatively new SE (1.5 years) and still have a huge chunk of my stock options to vest. Seeing all the tech layoffs lately has me seriously spooked about staying at PANW. I like the work and the team, but the thought of getting laid off before my next vest date and losing all that money is giving me constant anxiety. Is it worth it to start looking for a new job now, just for the peace of mind? Or am I being paranoid? I'm on the Prisma Cloud side, and things seem relatively stable, but you never know. Anyone else in a similar boat and considering their options?

Heard whispers of "efficiency measures" - anyone know anything?

I'm a senior engineer on the Cortex XDR team, been here almost 5 years. Lately, I've been hearing a lot of hushed conversations and vague terms like "efficiency measures" and "resource optimization" being thrown around in meetings. My manager has been super evasive anytime I try to get any specifics, just saying "focus on your work" and giving me the corporate runaround. Honestly, it's making me really anxious. Has anyone else heard anything similar in their departments? Are we looking at another round of layoffs? The silence from leadership is deafening, and it's making it impossible to focus on actual work. I remember similar things happening before the last restructuring. Wish they would just be transparent about what's going on instead of letting rumors run rampant.

Rant: The Bureaucracy is Killing Me!

I'm so frustrated right now! I've been trying to get a simple piece of software approved for my team to use for the past three weeks. The amount of red tape and approvals needed is absolutely insane. I swear, it's easier to break into Fort Knox than to get anything done around here. This used to be such a fast-paced, innovative company. Now it feels like we're drowning in process. I'm spending more time filling out forms and attending pointless meetings than actually doing my job! Anyone else feel like the bureaucracy is getting out of control?

Severance Package Question - Restricted Stock Units

Hypothetically speaking... if there *were* layoffs, how are RSUs typically handled in the severance package? I'm fully vested in a significant chunk of my stock options but still have a large amount of unvested RSUs. Does anyone have experience with this from past layoffs, either at PANW or other similar companies? Do they accelerate vesting? Or is it just gone? Trying to mentally prepare, just in case.

Anyone else feeling uneasy? Performance reviews coming up...

Is it just me, or does anyone else have a really bad feeling about the upcoming performance reviews? I've been at Palo Alto Networks for almost 5 years now, in a sales engineering role. I usually get pretty good reviews, but lately, the vibe just feels...off. There's been a lot of talk about "efficiency" and "optimization" in our team meetings. My manager keeps mentioning that they are trying to cut costs. It just feels like they're setting the stage for something. Anyone else feeling the same way? Am I just being paranoid?

Rant: Sick of the constant re-orgs

Seriously, how many times are they going to reshuffle the deck? I'm on the Threat Intelligence team, and it feels like every six months, we're reporting to a new manager, a new department, or a new VP. It's exhausting! We finally get used to a process, start building relationships, and BAM, everything changes again. It completely kills productivity and morale. I get that companies need to adapt, but this feels excessive. I'm starting to wonder if leadership even knows what they're doing. Anyone else feeling this way?

Severance package - what to expect?

Hypothetically speaking, if Palo Alto Networks were to do a layoff, what kind of severance package are we looking at? I've heard some rumblings, and I'm trying to prepare myself. I've been with the company for 3 years in a technical marketing role. Is it typically based on tenure? Does anyone have experience with past layoffs at PANW or similar companies? Any insight is greatly appreciated. I know this is a sensitive topic, but I'd rather be informed than caught off guard. Thanks!

Is anyone else feeling uneasy about Q3?

I've been at Palo Alto Networks for almost 5 years now, in a sales engineering role. I usually love it here, but something feels off lately. The VP of our division was acting really strange in the last all-hands meeting, kept talking about 'efficiency' and 'optimizing resources'. I know every company uses that kind of jargon, but it felt different this time. Plus, I heard from a buddy on the product side that they're freezing new projects until further notice. Anyone else picking up on these vibes? Or am I just being paranoid?
