Is the RSU refresh even worth it anymore?

I’m looking at my comp package and honestly struggling to see the value. With the constant 'restructuring' and the looming threat of more layoffs, the golden handcuffs are starting to feel more like lead weights. Between the Florida office cuts and the quiet attrition going on in other departments, the retention strategy seems to be 'pay them just enough so they don’t jump ship until their next vest hits.' I’ve had three recruiters reach out this week from competitors, and the total comp packages are actually competitive for once. Does anyone else feel like staying at PANW for the equity is a gamble at this point? I’m tired of the internal politics and the perpetual fear that my department might get consolidated next. I know the grass isn't always greener, but at least at other firms, you aren't waiting for a WARN notice every single quarter to see if your desk will still be there on Monday. Thinking of jumping before the next wave hits, but I'd love to hear if anyone else is actively interviewing or if I'm just being paranoid.

The current sentiment inside is pretty bleak, and you aren't alone in feeling that way. Palo Alto Networks has shifted toward a high-pressure, churn-heavy culture where your stock value feels more like a hostage situation than a genuine reward. If you are already getting serious interest from competitors, it’s worth taking the interviews. A refresh that requires you to stay another few years in a toxic, uncertain environment is rarely worth the stress. Take a look at the offers—if the base salary and stability are better elsewhere, the golden handcuffs lose their grip real fast.

Honestly, the RSU game at PANW has lost its luster since the stock price plateaued and the constant restructuring started keeping everyone on edge. We all know the drill: they dangle those refreshers right before a vest to make sure you stick around for the next round of 'strategic pivots.' If your mental health is suffering or the workload has become unsustainable due to the headcount cuts, no amount of unvested equity is worth the burnout. See what the market says; at this point, moving to a company with a clearer growth trajectory and less internal chaos might be the ultimate pay raise.
