Worried about vesting - should I jump ship now?

I'm a relatively new SE (1.5 years) and still have a huge chunk of my stock options to vest. Seeing all the tech layoffs lately has me seriously spooked about staying at PANW. I like the work and the team, but the thought of getting laid off before my next vest date and losing all that money is giving me constant anxiety. Is it worth it to start looking for a new job now, just for the peace of mind? Or am I being paranoid? I'm on the Prisma Cloud side, and things seem relatively stable, but you never know. Anyone else in a similar boat and considering their options?

Honestly, I get the anxiety. It's a tough call. Prisma Cloud *is* a growth area, but "relatively stable" isn't the same as layoff-proof. 1.5 years in, you probably don't have enough vested to change your life anyway. Weigh the stress vs. the potential financial loss. If the job hunt itself feels less stressful, then go for it. Peace of mind is worth something. Just don't jump to a *worse* situation out of fear. Look *carefully* before leaping.

Paranoid. Every company has layoffs sometimes. You're building valuable experience at a well-respected company. Don't throw that away based on vague anxieties. Focus on being a valuable member of your team. That's the best way to increase your job security. If you are really worried, then get your resume polished up, but don't start applying unless you see specific red flags in your org. Otherwise, you'll just be adding to your own stress.
