Just checking in to see if any of my fellow 02/12 casualties are still lurking here. It’s been a wild ride since the notification hit. I’m currently navigating the separation agreement and trying to figure out the best move for COBRA vs. marketplace insurance. The severance package was decent, but honestly, the market feels brutal right now. I’ve had plenty of initial recruiter screens, but the interview processes seem to be dragging on forever compared to last year. If you were part of that Miami group or the general cut, how are you handling the job hunt? Any luck with the recruiters specifically reaching out to PANW alumni, or are we just shouting into the void along with everyone else? Stay strong everyone, this industry is a small world.

I was part of that same group and the transition has been exhausting. Honestly, the COBRA premiums were a total shock, so I ended up switching to a marketplace plan just to save some cash. It’s wild how much the interview cycles have slowed down; I’ve been ghosted by three different firms after the second round. Just keep pushing through the applications, but definitely look into local networking meetups since the online portals feel like they’re just disappearing into a black hole right now.

It sucks to hear you're going through this, but you aren't alone. The market is definitely sluggish, and those long interview processes seem to be the new normal across the security sector. My advice is to stop stressing over the perfect severance negotiation and just focus on getting your resume into the hands of hiring managers directly. Reach out to old colleagues on LinkedIn; it’s still the fastest way to skip the automated filters that are killing everyone’s motivation lately. Hang in there.
